Please Volunteer for the Great Tree Canopy Comeback

Our parks need your help. On November 1st, Friends of the Parks will once again partner with area parks departments, volunteers, and businesses to purchase and plant new trees for our area parks. Over the last fifty years, our parks have lost close to 50% of the tree canopy due to weather and disease. Created in 2002, the Great Tree Canopy Comeback is your invitation to combat this critical loss of trees.

Grab a shovel, a few of your friends and come out to help. If you prefer writing a check to wielding a shovel, consider buying a tree. Or gather a group of your friends and pool your resources for a grove of trees. Either way, your help will be a lasting gift to our parks.

Saturday, November 1st, 2008, starting at 10:00 a.m.
McCulloch, Moody, Rockhill, Study, Swinney Parks in Fort Wayne, IN
Havenhurst Park in New Haven, IN
Fox Island, an Allen County, IN park
our goal is over 250 trees in these seven parks
